Ibitipoca Farm is a preserved area of Minas Gerais state, famous for its landscapes full of waterfalls, peaks, ridges, caves and natural pools. One of the most endangered biomas in the world and a biodiversity hotspot. Because of its altitude and geographical location, has many different biomes, such as Atlantic Forest, fields of high altitude, and Cerrado which results in an incredible range of biodiversity.
The rides trails are across more than 4 thousand hectares of land, where you will encounter a great diversity of landscapes, attractions and emotions. Ibitipoca, is located squarely inside the Atlantic Forest but has pockets of different environments, such as fields of high altitudes and rocky planes. In every ride you will encounter breathtaking landscapes. Altogether there are over 200 kms of trails that will lead you to stunning landscapes and pristine waterfalls.
• Tips are commonly paid in Brazil. Tipping is not essential, but if you are happy with the service you have been given, then it will be gratefully received.

Ibitipoca has over 4,000 hectares of preserved area that embraces and protects the Ibitipoca State Park in the county Lima Duarte, state of Minas Gerais. The area has been transformed in to a continuous stretch of Atlantic Forest, one of the most endangered biomas in the world and a biodiversity hotspot.
Ibitipoca is a year round destination, from November to March, is hotter, with heavier rain. Autumn/winter (May to September) is drier, winter temperatures sometimes dropping to 5C. April, May and June it is drier with cool evenings.

Nadja Hoffman is a German that came to Ibitipoca as a tourist, felt in love with the place and now is general manager of the Lodge. Because she is a horse lover and knows very well the region, she is very happy to be able to guide our groups.

The former farmhouse (one of the oldest in the region) was
renovated and restored to receive with great comfort. In its
decoration, the luxury is in the simplicity of each detail,
valuing the local crafts and culture. Already in the first meal
we will be able to perceive what awaits us for the next days:
the good hospitality and the famous “kitchen” of Minas Gerais.
After you are installed, go to the barns to meet your horses and
do a short familiarization ride.
Pedra do Gavião Circuit:
After breakfast start your first ride crossing Mata da Casa
Nova, past the sands of the full moon, until reach the waterfall
and swamp grotto where stop for a short visit, then continue the
ride to the Fernandinho lake, passing by the stone bridge. The
return will be by the Way of the Souls and Pedra do Lobo,
crossing the sands of the Casa Nova until Caminho da Sofia,
continue to the Mountain Houses where the group will have lunch.
In the afternoon, after a siesta on the deck / redario, ride
continue to the Pedra do Gavião lookout, passing the landing
strip lawn, and start climbing through the limeira trees, the
Paineiras Path, following the Garnet viewpoint, passing through
the Sun Spring Grotto and crossing the Jardim das Bromélias to
the Tree of the Seven Knights. Continue our climb and reach the
top, where leave our horses at the base and climb to enjoy the

wall of Paredão, always with a view of the Engenho valley, Serra
Negra and Pão de Angu.
Leaving the barn, we continue along the junction of the River
Salto to the lake of Viradouro, up to the landing strip and
arrive at the Piscinas (border with the State Park of Ibitipoca,
a place where the waters that come from the park merges with the
waters of the Garnet). We continue along the path of the Afonsos
to the waterfall of Laje, following to Cachoeira do Gritador, we
pass by the Black Lake and we arrive at the Engenho waterfall,
where we swim and have lunch.
Ride to Areião:
After breakfast, we start our ride towards Areião. After
crossing the Mata do Palmitinho, we pass the stone bridge and
climb the Laje until the Way of the Pamonão, seeing the Arraial
do Mogol in front of us, marking and crossing the Mata do
Jacutinga. Following the Serrinha do Mogol on the slope of the
wall of the State Park of Ibitipoca to Grota Funda, where we
entered the Patuá Forest, already in the Municipality of Bias
Fortes, descending through primary forest area, we arrive at
Casa do Patuá (where we stop for a coffee). We continue to the
farm Boa Vista (19th century) where lunch await us. In the
afternoon we continue our ride through small sites to the Pouso
do Areião, our destination of the day.
We have breakfast at sunrise on the hillside with a panoramic
view of the area. Then we continue our ascent up a rock
escarpment to the top of the mountain passing through a small
forest of bromeliads and forest of candles. Already on the other
side the topography and vegetation change a lot with rupestrian
fields (country vegetation associated with rocky outcrops that
occurs in the summit of saws). We descend to the waterfall of
the Seven Falls where we stop to take a bath in the natural pool
and then we continue to the Mata do Luna where we will try to
see the monkeys Muriqui (monkey coal). We continue around the
park until arriving at Areião for lunch. In the afternoon we
return to the Engenho, passing through forest areas and crossing

Ibitipoca’s luxury is found in the simplicity of every detail. The rooms are in a renovated Farm mansion surrounded by green area at an altitude of 900m. The ensuites features unique decor composed of handicrafts that highlight the local culture, king-size beds, Egyptian cotton bedding, Victorian baths, exclusive amenities Trousseau, heated towels and floor.
